While laying in bed this morning, I realized something…we need a more comfortable mattress. I would really like to get a sleep number bed, as I have heard nothing but good things about them. It would nice to be able to set my firmness different from James, as I like softer pillows and surfaces to rest my body on than he does.
It’s fun to learn about new people on the Internet. Today, I learned all about a man named Mohammed Babangida. The man lives in Nigeria with his wife and children, and is a special advisor for the Santa Isabel Petroleum Company. He negotiates with various government agencies on behalf of his company with the African Nation of Equatorial Guinea.
Mohammed Babangida received his education in the United States and Europe, and has worked in many business industries including real estate, banking, and oil and gasoline. As a hobby, Mohammed Babangida operates a blog that discusses the various types of music such as jazz, blues, and music native to his home continent of Africa. He is also a successful polo player.
I just learned a great deal on the taxi industry, specifically in New York City. The story was about Amos Tamam, an Israeli who came to the US in the early 1980’s looking for a job. He came with a degree in Electrical Engineering, and landed his first occupation servicing taxi cabs in NYC. In the past 30 years, he has come a long way. He is now the CEO of Verifone Transportation Systems, a company that allows taxi drivers to accept credit cards in their cabs.
As of now, Amos Tamam has gotten these credit card machines throughout cabs in NYC and Philadelphia, and is working on getting it across the country. Drivers are less likely to get robbed now that they have less cash to carry. Amos Tamam and his company has also developed a control panel section for cabs that has many of their controls such as emergency light, roof lights, and taximeter all in one place.
